Hey Everyone! I decided to start a new monthly segment, titled Top Three, in which I list what I am looking forward to most the upcoming month. As a young adult, I have learned that you often have to create your own excitement, prizes and rewards. Plus, this February is a leap year; anything could happen!
- That’s right, this week marks the beginning of the second half of my twenties. For the first time, I think, “Shoot, I am getting OLD.” Regardless, I look forward to spending time with my friends and family this week. Any restaurants recommendations for my birthday dinner? My birthday in particular is a special date, because my grandfather had the same birthday as me. We always used to celebrate together. My grandfather has always been an inspiration to me: He immigrated from Poland as a toddler, and relentlessly worked to send my father to a private high school and a prestigious college. I mentioned him in my speech at my sister’s rehearsal dinner, because he was the foundation of the paternal side of my family.
2. Valentine’s Day: I have a unique position on Valentine’s Day (more on that later). I am not a big pink girl. And I’m single. But for some reason, I look forward to spending the holiday with my closest friends. It falls on the Sunday before President’s Day, so I definitely plan on spending the long weekend with my lovies!!!
3. TV: Though I am still working through Making a Murderer on Netflix, there are quite a few TV programs that I am looking forward to. First off, I can’t wait to see Ross from Friends play Robert Kardashian in The People v. O.J. Simpson! And how will Selma Blair (HELLO Vivian Kensington) portray Kris Jenner? I have so often heard about this case, but it was a little before my time, and I look forward to learning more about it in this short series. This week’s People magazine features a cover story on the trial.
Second television program that I am pumped about? The Oscars! Will Leo FINALLY get that Oscar he has been vying for years? Emily of Shell Chic’d’s take on how to host a proper awards party!
What ever happened to predictability? : My sister is five years older than me, and she basically had me grow up watching Full House. Perhaps that is why I love San Francisco so much? Hence, my excitement with the upcoming reboot, Fuller House. My general feeling is that it could be a hit or a miss. I look forward to tuning in on February 26!
What are you looking forward to most this month?

Hi Cara!
I love the throwback about your grandfather. Celebrating your birthdays together sounds very special!
This month I look forward to Valentine’s Day, applying to graduate school and moving home with my parents. I’m excited to see what my boyfriend is planning for Valentine’s Day, it will be our first together. I’m anticipating the relief I will feel after sending in my applications, I’ve been grueling over for them for months. And I am super excited to be living with my parent’s dog Max.
I’m hoping the OJ Simpson trial series is good too. I’m definitely going to binge watch it! I look forward to reading your next post!
I am jealous you are moving in back home! I miss living with Penny!
I totally binged Making a Murderer on Netflix! And then realized I spent 10 hours watching it only to be mad by the end of it lol. I, too, am looking forward to the show on OJ Simpson – the commercials have been too good!
Thanks for stopping by! I just watched the first episode of OJ Simpson today; overall I really liked it! But I couldn’t really get used to Ross playing someone other, than, well, Ross!
