Top Three: April 2016

Mindy Kaling-April

So…..This post is a little late! We are already a third through the month! My bad! So glad that the sun is out as I write this, considering the rain and snow that we had earlier this week. Without further ado, here are the top three things that I am looking forward to this month!

1.”The Office” Ladies return! I was always a big fan of “The Office,” especially given all of the Boston connections that the actors/writers have. I looooovveee Mindy Kaling, and am currently reading her second book, Why Not Me?. I have to say, I like this book much better than her first one, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns). I actually saw her in a gym locker room once (not as creepy as it sounds), so in my imaginary world, I know we are destined to be besties (along with Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port and Taylor Swift #SQUADGOALS).  After a long hiatus, “The Mindy Project” comes back to Hulu this month. Also returning with new episodes is “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” featuring “The Office” alum Ellie Kemper. I love both shows for their whim and strong central female characters. “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” comes back to Netflix April 15, and “The Mindy Project” returns April 12!

2. Friends: Throughout my journey into adulthood, I have learned the importance of true friendships. Best stated by Lauren Conrad, “as people grow up, they realize it’s less important to have more friends, and more important to have real ones.” Your friends are the people who are there for you when you just can’t sleep in the middle of the night, or don’t know how you’re going to make it through the day. Sometimes the people who you thought would always be there, aren’t. But on the flip side, others can surprise you by showing up during really tough times. One of my friends who I talk to nearly everyday (well, text) is my friend Sergio, from college. We have some of the best/funniest memories from our time together there. I haven’t seen Sergio in about a year and a half, and I am super excited to see him when he comes to visit Boston next weekend!

3. Marathon Monday: A Boston must-do! Most of us (if not all) have the day off from work. It is the perfect excuse to hang outside with your friends, while cheering on your fellow Bostonians. I am hoping for sunshine this year! I am super lucky to live on the marathon route in Brighton, but my favorite spot to watch it from is probably Wellesley Square. Do you know anyone running the marathon this year? Be sure to donate to Boston blogger Alex’s (www.literally-everything.com) run!

What are you looking forward to this month?
