Product Review: Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Drops

Recently, I went to two weddings two weekends in a row, and so decided to get a spray tan. Unfortunately, the spray tan was completely streaked on my legs. In a panic, I was on the search for an at-home product to balance out my tan. I stopped into one of the few places that any girl in my position would: Sephora.

I explained I wasn’t looking for a deep tan, but just a glow to balance out my previous faux pas. I was directed to the Isle of Paradise products. “Vegan Friendly, Cruelty Free and Organic,” these sprays and drops can be applied to the body or face. I went with the drops, because they were a lower price point.

First, like any self-tanner, you must exfoliate. Then, apply the drops to your moisturizer. I just added the drops to some Jergens (which maybe if I had faithfully used, I wouldn’t have found myself in this predicament!) and my Clinique lotion.

Overall, the drops fixed my botched look. It’s true I said I wanted a light glow, but I would have liked a bit deeper of a tan. I suppose I should have gone for the green bottle if that was what I wanted. It’s possible the spray would have been easier to apply, as well. I missed a few spots on the back of my legs. Even though it fixed the streakiness of my spray tan, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this product and am still on the hunt for the right one!
