Growing up, I always thought of Lands’ End as L.L.Bean’s non-New England cousin. Naturally, we would go to L.L.Bean to order our new backpacks, iconic Bean Boots and monogrammed tote bags. Nothing against Lands’ End, but L.L. Bean was just the more New England way of doing things.
However, I was reading Instyle this past Fall, and came across a piece on the newly re-vamped Lands’ End brand. Italian native Federica Marchionni took the CEO post early last year. She previously was President at Dolce&Gabbana, and has strived to re-brand Lands’ End.
Coincidentally, in the process of writing this post, I read about the Lands’ End pop-up shop at the Copley Plaza, thanks to Rarely Taken Seriously and The Boston Fashionista. I love the pictures and featured items in both ladies’ posts! Given that my brother-in-law wanted a “festive” scarf for Christmas, I figured this was the perfect opportunity to visit the shop. While waiting for his scarf to be monogrammed, I snapped these pics throughout the post! The store was super cute and really put me into the Holiday spirit!
As for the Lands’ End website, it is for sure is moving in a more stylish direction. It features a “Stylist’s Picks” section, featuring Vogue’s Market Stylist Cara Crowley. Also, items are categorized into cute collections, such as “A Winter’s Tale,” “Sea to City,” and “On the Waterfront.”
The website features some great basics for any young woman. Looking through the items (coats and sweaters in particular), I got a J.Crew or Banana Republic vibe, but often at lower price points. If only there was a year-round Lands’ End shop here in Boston!
