SnOMG! April is off the QUITE the start isn’t it!? It’s hard to believe that Easter was just last week. Easter can be so unpredictable, weather-wise; in New England, we never know what we are going to get. I scroll down my Instagram feed, envying bloggers from warmer regions, sporting their pastel dresses and sandals.
Despite my desire for warmer weather, I had quite the delightful holiday. To me, Easter represents renewal and cleansing. We had Easter brunch this year in Chatham, Cape Cod, where my parents recently moved.
Any of my close friends know my love for/obsession with Penny, the Cockapoo my family bought when I was in high school. Two years ago, at Christmas, we captured the cutest video of Penny pawing and barking at her stocking from Santa.
Since there were no children present at my celebration, I figured Penny could benefit from a trip from the Easter Bunny. I happened to be at the The Street in Chestnut Hill, where there is a Polkadog Bakery. I picked up some goodies for Penny’s Easter basket; (dog-friendly) decorated cookies, a toothbrush, toothpaste, bunny ears, plastic eggs, a small bunny toy and a Lamb Chop plush.
As for me? I received a gift bag from the Easter bunny; a speckled Kate Spade tumbler, a Starbucks gift card, a chocolate bunny and a tasseled scarf.
Our meal was great! We ended up making The Salted Cookie’s Cadbury Mini Egg Magic Bars for dessert. I hope to do some more cooking and DIY projects next Easter, when I am finally off these crutches! It was great to see my parents, aunts, uncles, and cousin. My Uncle Jim always helps me with photography. I certainly wish the weekend could have lasted longer; I found myself missing the days of Easter Break when I went to Catholic school!
Fingers crossed for warmer weather next year! Or maybe we should just hope that we don’t get snow!
